…changing gears, going in a different direction, there are a lot of phrases for making changes in our lives. For me, the past year has been one of discovering what i’m GREAT at (not just “good”), what i’m most passionate about, and where i can create the most positive change.
I’ve had a great career as a website designer & developer. I ran an awesome company (Toydrum) for 8 years, and i’ve worked with the best of the best in town (clients as well as other creatives & programmers). …all the while my favorite projects were always those that involved print & publishing. Indeed from 2007-2011 I worked for others (Performance Magazine, This Land Press, and then the Boy Scouts office) doing primarily print-related work. I’ve known that print / publishing is what I’m best at and where I want to stay.
so i’m process of re-defining and creating new business models for the company: one that is based primarily on a retainer fee structure, and the other that is based in product sales. In the coming days and weeks I’ll have more information out about what’s going on with me, what new stuff I’ll be putting out in to the world, etc. teaser: I’m starting a book publishing company. I’ve got some other killer plans in the works.
So you’re not going to build websites anymore?
you ask.
No.
I answer.
I can probably design it, but I’m really not that good at everything else.
I would like to introduce Pixel Dust Media (http://pixeldustmedia.us/).
Angie Hammond & Trisha Salas have been working with me for the past year, and that they do an incredible job with all things web. I’m VERY pleased to announce that they have started their own company. Trisha’s programming, and Angie’s design work together are a powerful combo. More than that, they are great at working with business owners, bringing their own creative ideas in to the mix, and are a client’s dream – experienced, reliable, professional and awesome.
The web & social media continues to grow and change. THE most important thing for a business looking for website design & development firm is to find a group that continues to learn, innovate, and express the passion they have for web, in their work. You’re going to find that with Pixel Dust. They’re talented, they’re experienced, but most of all they care.
So here’s basically what I’m saying: If you’ve got a website that needs building, they’ll do an awesome job for you. If you’re not that far along and you are still working on your logo, branding / identity and need things like business cards and marketing collateral, please check out my services page as well as the portfolio of my work. I hope that you would contact me for your graphic design & print design needs. Thanks!
